I have a power input socket problem, it only works if you hold the lead right up against the laptop. I have tried to remove the cover but after removing all the screws it still seems firm has anybody got any instructions as to how to gain access inside the laptop please

I don`t know the exact answer for your particular Amilo but my experience in the past when dismantling anything like a laptop is to remove all visible screws using the correct size screwdriver (making a note of where each one goes as you dismantle) ...then use the corner of a credit card between the cover and case , sliding it along carefully until an obstruction occurs....then investigate tthe cause of the obstruction. This will usually be a screw (possibly hidden with a rubber grommet or label or maybe underneath a component etc. ) or a plastic clip in a slot.
Using the credit card means that you don`t scratch any surfaces or force anything as the plastic credit card flexes without causing damage. Patience and being careful (and sensible !) is essential.
