Amilopro V3505 - replace wifi card

Postby bastounnet » Sat May 29, 2010 10:29 am

hi,

i'm sebastien a frenchy.
I'have need help to solved my matter if it's available.

I have a amilo pro V3505 (Centrino Dual Core 2050).
I want to use the wireless N draft on my laptop.
I tested a card Intel WiFi Link 5100 in replacement of the original Intel 3945ABG.
It is recognized by Windows XP and the hardware manager of windows xp but it does not see any wireless network.
In the wireless network manager for Windows, a message asked me to verify that the hardware switch is ON.
the problem is that the only interupteur is inoperative due to the replacement of the card as the F10 function key.
(The wifi LED control panel is always off).
I think the launch manager (Wistrom) which controls this key does not recognize the card because the others functions keys work properly.
Is this a hardware incompatibility or only software, do you have a solution for me?

bests regards

Seb

Hi

I don't solved my problem.

The firmware of my notebook don't reconize this card. The key on my notebook which turn on/off the card don't work. And in default is off.
I think if we find the method to turn on this card the wifi could work because windows find this card in the peripherical system.

Hi,

in the German chip forum someone gave me a hint:

http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/3g-mobi ... n-fix.html

I taped this PIN 20 of my WLAN Card and now everything works fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unbelievable how easy this was.

You should try this.

Isolate pin 20 with e.g. masking tape.
