Upgrading Graphics card on an Amilo D-7830

Postby Sukhoi_Flagon » Tue Oct 31, 2006 3:42 pm

Hi guys, first post and all.
just bought the Amilo D7830 with 64mb ATI9000 Mobility gfx card. now seeing as this is a seperate component, is it possible to upgrade this? (i would be thinking along the lines of the X300 128mb card or higher)

also, anyone got one of these and can tell me what they think of it?
Thanks
Oli :)

Hi,
yeah i saw that like 20 mins after posting, silly me! although i have noticed that there is a 128mb version of the same card, heres just a little bit of info from the ATI Website:

Three Pin-Compatible Variants for Ultimate Design Flexibility

* Mobility™ Radeon™ 9000 represents ATI’s sixth generation of mobile graphics to integrated memory on the chip. With three variants, Mobility™ Radeon™ 9000 offers true flexibility for numerous mobile form factors, from full size to “thin-and-light”. Mobility™ Radeon™ 9000 has three variants:
o Discrete
o On-chip 32MB DDR (64-bit)
o On-chip 64MB DDR (128-bit)
o On-chip 128MB DDR (128-bit)

Now ive got to think, that if ive got the on chip 64mb, surely i can upgrade to the 128mb one, i mean.... its got to be the same layout right? and if so, where would i begin to look, aside from ebay, to find one?
