How do I remove the keyboard on the AmiloPro2020 ?

Postby micro » Sun Jun 20, 2010 8:52 am

Hi there everyone!

My problem consists of the following:

The keybord on a friends Amilo Pro 2020 stopped responding (nothing works).
I tried to remove the kb on this model but its somehow seems different.
I have removed kb from other notebooks like Dell or HP. Generally the procedure includes removing the plastic top above the kb.
On this model I cannot see that top. All the plastic around the kb seems to be a single part.
I'm affraid I'll break it.
Can you please help ?

I don't know the V2020, but it has indeed no hinge cover. There is another common construction type:
Have a close look at the edges of the keyboard. I guess you'll see some well hidden small latches (probably one on left and right and three on the top side). Release them and you should be able to take the keyboard out. Maybe you'll need to release a screw in the middle of the underside of the notebook first (probably labeled with K/B).

Problem solved ... I didn't manage to take out the kb (started on the notebook before seeing your instructions).
I disassembled the notebook (removed all back covers, hdd, optical drive ...) and reassembled it, and it worked :)
I really couldn't tell you what I did to solve the kb problem.

Anyway, thank you for your effort!
