amilo m1450g won't switch on

All kinds of problems or malfunctions without known reason. Also general problems with the notebook as a whole.

hi all, i'm currently using an amilo m1450g. i opened it up to upgrade memory. i took out the memory to see how much
was on the card. i put it back in and the laptop is getting no power at all. i never removed the battery while doing this.
can any 1 help me please. thank you

I guess you destroyed something. You should always remove main battery and power pack before opening the notebook.
You could remove the RAM again (after removing the battery) and start the notebook. If it's still alive, the LEDs should flash in a certain pattern indicating that no RAM was found.

You might also try the "hardware reset" (or "act of desperation" as I like to call it):
Remove main battery and power pack, then hold the power button for 15 seconds and see if something works afterwards.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. ive tried all those things and still got no joy.
If the laptop can't be fixed, do i lose all my stuff on the hard-drive?

No, I don't think that the HDD is damaged. You can remove it from the notebook and attach it to an external adapter or in an external HDD case. Then you can access it from another computer.
