first, thank you Aaron for your replay.

second, maybe i did not explain my problem very well. the problem is that i bought my amilo li 1718 two years ago and i have set a password on the c mos to prohibit the bad use of my lap top. and you know to make a user password you have first to set a master password. i set both of theme then i erased the user password but unfortionaly i forgot to erase the master password. now i want to reset a user password because now i need it again but i can not be cause i do not have the master password. i just wanted to ask if there is any body who know a trick to bypass the master password.

by the way, my lap top is working very well and i tried to upgrade the flash of the bios. the upgrade is done but i still have the problem. i thought that if i can change the software of the bios it will forget the password and it will be like the new one.
is that correct?

thank you again.
