Amilo L1300 backlight issues

Postby thewk » Fri Oct 22, 2010 9:02 pm

My Amilo L1300 is having backlight issues, after brief blink at boot up, the light shuts down. I can still see faint image on screen and the computer works otherwise well. There are no problems with external display. I have disassembled the laptop a bit and noticed that if I push and release the button which controls backlight on/off functions when display lid is closed the light will blink again just as it does at boot up. It does these two blinks always, one blink at boot and always after releasing the onf/off -button.

So apparently there is problems with the backlight. Problem is that I don't know how I am supposed to detach the display bezel, there are no screws or anything:

Should I just try to pry it open? It seems to require lots of force, unsual amount for computers and I am afraid that I will damage the whole display.
