Hi all,

How are you. Got a V2010 laptop here, tried to upgrade the ram the other day but didn't even get that far. The laptop won't even boot now. This is someone that doesn't live far away from me, I just cleaned the fans and inside, loads of dog hair  and the fans were disgusting, thank god for compressed air.

Problem is the power seems to charge the battery and the fans come on when power button is pressed. (Yes I tried reset 15~30sec without battery plugged in, etc etc). However no bios/boot process is loading.

Either the motherboard got a static shock (maybe from the dog hair), or I've been reading about bad solder joints near the power adapter...???

What do you think is the case..I don't want to go buy a new mobo if it's just one solder joint messed up.

Do you guys have any pictures/diagrams/ideas to look out for. Been reading this is a common problem?

Many thanks.

Ok anyone alive here?

I've had some tips that the Ram could have died, the CPU could have died, the heat sink might be loose etc but how can I try each one.

I took the Cell battery out for 60 seconds no joy (without the battery). any ideas?

If your laptop doesn't even start anymore, the only way to test its components is to install them into another working machine.
Unfortunately FTS doesn't release any detailed hardware documents and the reason could be the dirt as well as a bad soldering. So it's hard to tell which might be the reason.
Did you fix the fan while applying the compressed air? If you didn't the air flow might have turned the fan, which turns it into a generator and could damage the main board with its electric output.
