Amilo L7300 no screen no bios

Postby satbuggy » Sun Jan 02, 2011 7:22 pm

Hi,

After a few months, i started up the L7300 and winxp started after a while, nothing wrong.
When i tried to reinstall Win Xp via USB Stick, after telling BIOS to discard without any change.

All of the sudden my screen went out.
Win xp is still working but the screen shows a lot of colours.

Maybe is should reset the laptop? the clock battery?(where can i find it?).

Thanks!

The CMOS battery is in the lower left corner underneath the upper casing- right next to the LEDs. You won't be able to access it without taking the whole laptop apart.
Instead of that you could try a hardware reset first: remove main battery and power pack, and hold the power button for circa 30 seconds.

But I doubt that this will solve your problem. Can you please do the following things and tell us if the screen looks normal?:
1. Boot Windows in safe mode.
2. Boot from a Linux Live CD.
3. Attach an external monitor, boot Windows in normal mode and switch to the external monitor.
