Amilo Xi 2550 and Battery problem

Postby mir77 » Sat Jan 15, 2011 10:32 am

Hi, I bought older FS Amilo Xi 2550 as a reserve laptop for my parents. Office working and watching movie. There were Windows Vista installed and I didn't take notes of anything suspicious after I booted it up.
I've installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit and now I've got red X across the battery icon and announcement Consider replacing your battery. I've googled it and found, that it was problem with compatibility of battery drivers and Windows 7. My friend had similar problem na Asus laptop. Then some kind of windows update came out and it was good. But no update is donwloading on my laptop and I am unable to find any solution to this.
I hope that some members solved this problem and that they will be willing to share some kind of manual with solution.
Thx and pardon my english.

Hi,

maybe this statement of Microsoft explains the message:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/e7/archive/2010 ... sages.aspx

Try executing "Powercfg /energy" with admin privileges to have a look at the "Design Capacity" and "Last Full Charge" value.

Design Capacity: 48840
Last Full Charge: 13886

I have no illusions about battery lifetime, but on Vista I've got laptop running on battery almost an hour, on Seven it has been about 20 minutes.

Your battery is used up.
It will need replacing. Most probably it only has about 30% capacity left.

Yeah, by this time a figured this out too. Yesterday a tried the last thing, restarting the battery by putting empty battery to the fridge. It's even worse :D No it's just about making decision, if I really need the battery. It's just workstation for me, so I probably leave it as it is. but it's a shame.
