HEllo there,
i have this problem with my sound card RealTek ALC888 HD which made my head spining around for a week :
1. i have original windows vista home premium SP1 that came with the laptop
2. the sound icon in the taskbar gives no audio output device is installed
3. there is no Sound,Game,Video controller entry for my audio in Device Manager that's weird ???
4. i have tried to uninstall realtek HD audio driver from control panel which seems to be corrupt by the incorrect size
but with a message of failure
5.i have installed the latest drivers available from realtek website again with a message of failure "install RealTek HD audio failure" error code something like 0x00000005
almost i have tried every thing(Windows Update,SP1,SP2,SAFE MODE Drivers install,Add Hardware wizard,up-to-date drives,....)
i need to know if my sound card is faulty before i open my laptop and check it out...... please any ideas before i do that.
thanks for the help in advance.
