Situation:
1) Suddenly the laptop greets me with a bios password prompt. A bug produced it.
2) Keyboard is partially broken. Enter key doesn't work, nor does ctrl and a few others.
Normally I use a USB keyboard, but I have to have a primary keyboard that works in order to fix the bios password (yes, I know how to fix it, no help needed).
But, since I have access to old Amilo laptops - other models, I thought maybe I could replace the built in keyboard just for fixing the bios password, then put the original (half broken) back for regular operation, since the other model keyboards won't fit physically.
But I'm thinking they should be compatible as an input device in an emergency? Any thoughts on that?
