Amilo A7600 RAM location

Postby haga41 » Thu Nov 16, 2006 11:34 pm

This is quite an old machine and this is a last ditched attempt to not have to buy a new machine.

I know exactly what RAM it needs and have found some to put it. I even know that there are currently 2 x256mb chips installed, there speed, type etc.

Problem is, i can only find one of them. Its really obviously signed and is right in the centre of the under side of the case and only has one screw holding the cover on.

Where the hell is the other chip?

Any ideas?

Thanks

On some models one module is located unter the keyboard. It's worth a try ;-)

Ive heard that thats the next obvious place.

All the screw on the base of the machine are numbered. 5,7,9 and 18 - the screws actually get longer the higher the number.

I took out all screws i could find, including the 2 in the edge of the casing, but still couldnt easlity access under the keyboard. Infact, it looked like the drives etc in the case would fall out!!

There must be an easy way to get at the other RAM chip.

Just remove the keyboard itself, you don't have to disassemble to notebook.
It should work similar to this tutorial:

Im afraid there is no screw labelled K/B and no obvious release tabs on the keyboard.

I had a look at the "Easy guide" ( http://support.fujitsu-siemens.com/Manu ... uID=199884 ), there it is written that you can upgrade only one module :-(
