Amilo L7320 (L7320GW) upgrade CPU options

Postby Enceladus » Mon Mar 14, 2011 1:09 pm

Have been give a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo L7320 (says L7320GW on label) to sort out. Has a Celeron M390. Laptop is in good condition so I was wondering about upgrading the CPU.

Will any Dothan core Pentium M with 400MHz FSB work? Such as Pentium M 735 or Pentium M 745 or Pentium M 755. I know I have one in a drawer somewhere, I think a 745 1.8GHz.

Thanks,

A Pentium M with 400 MHz FSB should work. (As usual, you should load the BIOS default settings after replacing the CPU.)

The CPU upgrade I had was a Pentium M735. So 1.7GHz Dothan, same clock speed as the Celeron M390 Dothan. Anyway I put it in to see if the laptop supported the Pentium M. Everything is OK except that the CPU is stuck at 600MHz. I set bios defaults and there is no option on the menu to enable EIST.

Launch RM clock and the CPU changes to 1.7GHz.
Any ideas on how to enable the EIST permanently in the bios?
