LCD display black (but flickers), external monitor working

Postby Probably_obvious » Sun Nov 19, 2006 9:45 am

This is a bit of a funny one - this is a family member's Amilo M1425, which is playing up.

The LCD display is basically black, but it can definitely work - using Fn+F4 to cycle through display modes causes it to flicker. Image through an external monitor is fine.

If I maximise the brightness on the LCD display (Fn+F7) I even get a very very faint image appearing on the LCD display. However, I just can't get the LCD display working properly.

Any and all suggestions here would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Jim :(

it seems that you background lightning is broken. You may call the FSC support.

Yeah... the background light is a big possibility, but (if I didn't say this in the original post) the display does occasionally flicker into life for a fraction of a second, particularly when I use Fn+F4 to cycle through the displays. It's almost as if there is some kind of a software issue, or a setting somewhere, but I'm at a real loss to figure out what it might be.

Thanks.

It may be a problem with the inverter and not with the lights themselves. However, it is probably a hardware failure...

Thanks for that - I think that we'll be contacting FSC :(
