Amilo Li2727 Screen

Postby ropaul » Sun Jun 12, 2011 1:28 pm

I seem to have a problem with the screen in that there appears to be a loose connection somewhere near the left hand hinge, the screen is frequently going blank and just by flexing the screen/ left hand hinge the screen comes back, its now getting that you have to keep pressure flexing that area all the time now to keep the screen on continuously. Are there connections coming through that hinge? and if so could it be easily repaired?, if there are no connections there, what could be causing the loss of the screen?,finally where could I pick up instructions on how to dissassemble the laptop in order to repair the loose connections?Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.

hi, i suspect that the actual problem is the connector as the connections are at the top of the screen and other end is under the keyboard the cable passes through the left hand hinge. so it must be torn. i have a strange diplay problem too. i searched all over the net for guides to no avail. so what i did was use a work area three times the size of the laptop fully open and simply drew round the laptop and unscrewed everything and placed them all on the drawing so i knew roughly where they all went back. im a total novice and it took me 40 minutes to dissamble and 15 minutes to re assemble. good luck :-)

Thanks Stesuv, I might have to try that since I have enquired in a laptop repair shop and they have estimated the cost to be between 80 and 100 pounds depending on parts required, it appears the main cost is stripping it down!
