Amilo Xi 2528 Strange Memory error

Postby amstrand » Sun Jun 19, 2011 8:48 pm

Hi,

I've an Amilo Xi 2528 and while windows startups I get BSOD saying there is ERROR: NMI Memory parity error.

I've gone into Windows Vista in safe mode and it starts up correctly.
I've also tried running memtest86+ and I get one strange behaviour: The program runs fine but the letters showing in screen change from small letter to upper or to some other strange characters.

Memtest ends and it says everything is fine with memory, so now I don't exactly know what is the problem with the laptop.

Anyone faced a similar problem before?

Thanks!

I've had the PC turned on for several hours in safe mode (while doing a backup of data) and after rebooting it starts correctly Windows Vista. I'm suspecting the problem has to do with the video card and the temperature the of the laptop
