Hey, I'm a rookie here.
So I have a problem. My gf has an Amilo Pi3540 notebook running Win 7 on it which cannot start up. During start up I get a screen, with two options on it: 1. Run Start Up Repair 2. Start Windows normally.
If I choose #2 I end up getting a blue screen with a stop error (Error: UNMOUNTALE_BOOT_VOLUME with STOP: 0x000000ED )
If I choose #1 passing the Windows logo I end up getting a black screen with the cursor in the middle and nothing happens at all.
After trying this two options, I switched this notebook off then started again. I pressed F8 and
- chose Safe Mode with Command Prompt. It started to load Windows files, but after CLASSPNP.SYS I ended up getting a blue screen again and suddenly switches off.
- chose Recover and I got a blank screen.
After all of this, I wanted to make a clean installation of Win 7, but I stuck at Windows logo. Same thing happened during Vista installation.
So I got a bit despair, but I'm quite a die-hard. I'm planning to switch this HDD with another from my Amilo Pa2510. It has Windows XP installed on it, I don't know if it's gonna work with Pi3540. (I've read somewhere if I start up in safe mode there won't be any driver issues) Is it true?
Is there any method to repair this disk without have to use it as a slave disk in another pc?
Many thanks in advance.
