M6450G Monitor output poor

Postby VFuRry » Fri Dec 08, 2006 11:13 am

Hi

I have had my FSC Amilo M6450G for a while, but have only recently tried connecting a CRT monitor to the VGA output, to use this monitor as a 2nd display.

The display on the CRT, though, is blurry, with 'ghosting'. The cause is not the CRT - I have tried two different ones, and both give the same, poor result.

Is this a common problem, has anyone else found this?
Does anyone know why, or how to 'fix' this problem?
Or do I just have to accept that the built-in graphics aren't very good for the 2nd display?
Or are the built-in graphics intended only for a 2nd LCD? (would this make any difference?).

TIA,
Dave.

It's normal for nearly all laptops that the quality isn't the best, but up to 1280x1024 it should be no problem.
Can you take a photo?

I'd try another driver, maybe it helps.

M6450G here, working just fine on the monitor out. Tried with a 21 " Nokia and a 17" Samsung. Everything is ok. Send your laptop in to be serviced. Maybe there is dirt and oxidation in the monitor connector...
