Windows Vista and Amilo D 1845

Postby alfgut » Fri Dec 15, 2006 11:42 am

Hello there,

I am trying to install Windows Vista Ultimate into an Amilo D 1845. I can't find drivers for my wi-fi card in the Fujitsu-Siemens driver cd. The tool that tells you which hardware yo have doesn't run on Windows Vista. What can I do?

Thank you very much, indeed.

I used the Windows XP drivers when I tried release candidate and they worked like a charm.

I haven't tried Gold release yet though.

How did you get on with the memory card reader? I couldn't get that working. I did notice that it was much better on power management than XP - it handles the heat problems on the 1845 nicely. You may find problems with video drivers - the out-the box Vista drivers are ok, but for anything fancy, they're tricky to find. I ended up using the ATI desktop drivers with a file hacking tool I downloaded.

Keep me posted. I'm contemplating moving more permanently to Vista.

The pain of burning...or, why did I buy a D1845?
