Touchpad Problem Amilo Pi 1505

Postby muttsnuts » Sat Dec 16, 2006 3:10 pm

Hi, I have just bought an Amilo Pi1505. I am having a problem with the touchpad.

The problem is that after a few seconds the touchpad freezes and starts then freezes again etc. While it's doing this it's trying to left click.

Mechanically the button feels fine but I left the pointer on a windows red cross and without clicking it closed the window.

Unfortunately I have just exchanged this machine for the very same reason and now I have another so I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and how to solve it.

Does it require a driver update and the touchpad feels fine and for the short period it's not playing up it works well.

Could it be the bios (must check which version mine is), a loose cable (this problem is ongoing but the touchpad does have times where it works) or is it just plain busted?

Please help as I do not wish to lose the machine for 2-4 weeks for inspection if it avoidable.

All tips and suggestions very welcome.

P.S Great forum, this is my first visit and will be back.

I never heard of such a problem.
You could remove the touchpad driver and try if it works then (of course without the features of the driver).

Thanks for the reply. I installed a synaptics touchpad driver and no joy so I have contacted the suppliers recommeded service agent and they are going to collect the machine in the new year and take a look.

Not a great start with my new Amilo, will post the results of the inspection.
