2000+ hibernation problems

Postby skeme » Thu Dec 21, 2006 12:12 am

Hi,

I have recently bought a second hand amilo 2000+ and have installed windows XP Pro onto it.

There doesnt however seem to be any standby / hibernation settings when I choose shut down from the start menu.

I have tried resetting the bios, and checking the power options in control panel to no avail.

Are there any updates which would help me, or is it not possible on this machine with its motherboard?

Many thanks.

Ian

I think there are some problem with drivers. Is there something suspect in your hardware device manager?

It does have some problems with device manager, the sound card is one and the network card is the other...but none of them should correspond should they?

Thing is i have tried downloading the newest video driver and also the newest modem driver from the siemens sites......and they wont install.

Is there anyway i can verify the model number of my laptop from the serial number?

The helpdesk told me it was a 2000 but it doesnt say it anywhere on it???

You can enter the serial on the drivers page:
