Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I wasn't sure where to put it.
I have an Amilo Pro v2030. I recovered it with the CD and installed the drivers with the DVD.
When I turn it on, the bios screen flicks on as normal and then as the Windows XP loading screen fades in, it freezes mid-fade. Then after about ten seconds, the hard drive light flickers, the drive spins up and windows loads. Then on shut down, the windows is shutting down screen comes on then when it turns off, the drive makes the high pitched noise like when it is forced to turn off by holding down the power button.
The drive is also detected by windows as a SCSI drive, (shown below) even though in the bios it is said to be on SATA channel 1. One of the drive options is 32-bit I/O, and this is disabled. Could this be the problem, as it only seems as if the drive cannot power on and off properly. Any ideas as to the cause? As I am worried about damaging the drive. Was I supposed to install any drivers during Windows setup? I found some floppy images on the driver DVD, but I don't have a floppy drive.
Sorry if this is an obvious problem.
