remote control

Postby greatP » Wed Jan 10, 2007 4:20 pm

I have been trying to find a post answering my question but I couldnt find it.

I have an Amilo Si1520 and it came with an ir remote control.
My problem is that I cant get it to work with winamp and vlc. sure the volume works but I cant change track or pause and so on.
I have searched the fsc site for any software making this possible but I couldnt find any.
So do any of u know how I can make this happend?
Thanks

Afaik the remote creates key events for most buttons - you should look for "global keybindings" or something similar in Winamp/VLC.

Doesn't it work to just press the button in the input field?

havent tried in winamp but in vlc u have to choose command from a list. tried to use the same key combination as in media player but that didnt work. I have also tried to find a small program that can read what the remote sends but I havent found one.

[edit]ok I almost got it to work in winamp, only buttons I cant configure is play and pause. But I managed to assign another button for that function so it's no big deal. also tried to assign the exact same thing in vlc as I did in winamp but it didnt work at all.
