Amilo Pi1505 touchpad manufacturer

Postby TheRawGod » Thu Jan 11, 2007 10:26 pm

Recently I've bought an Amilo Pi1505 notebook (Core 2 Duo T5200 configuration).
I'm pretty satisfied with it while I'm a bit confused with the following issue:
neither during initial installation of drivers from the original Amilo DVD, nor during drivers update with online DeskUpdate I was not prompted to install a touchpad driver:( Thus my touchpad works without any additional features.

Unfortunately I have no idea where to look for the name of manufacturer of my touchpad:)
Can anybody tell me where I can get it so I can download the driver from its site?
Or maybe someone knows with which touchpads are those Amilo's shipped (bought in Ukraine from official reseller just before the New Year)?

Thanks.

It's an "Elantec Touchpad".

aspettl,
thanks a lot for the info!

The most funny thing is that even knowing the manufacturer of the touchpad I have no idea where I can download drivers for it:)

Maybe you meant "Elantech touchpad"?

Possible, I don't know exactly - it gives a lot more Google results, so I suppose it's "Elantech" ;-)

Ok, thanks ;)

Their official site has no links to download drivers, while Google gives some clues:)

Just downloaded the "5.0.3.6(WHQL).zip" driver. Will try it in the nearest future and post results here.

Well, the story continues:)

"5.0.3.6(WHQL).zip" installed successfully, device manager told that everything works without problems.
But most of additional mouse configuration tabs that were added after installatin of this driver were disabled:)
I couldn't set up scrolling, dragging etc.

So it seems that the device might be really from Elantech, still it is somehow special and requires another driver.

I think that I'll try to contact Fujisu-Siemens support to resolve this issue or at least to get an explanation of what's going on with it:)

Ufortunately there are no news:(
I did not manage to find a touchpad driver to work with my Amilo.
Last weeks I was very busy and did not contact the support either. I hope I'll try to do it soon. If I have any results I'll post them here for sure.
