Recovery folder

Postby Andee » Sun Jan 28, 2007 2:16 pm

On my L7300 (which I bought from currys) hard drive there is a hidden folder. This folder has a miror image of the hard drive as it was when I bought my lap top. I have been unable to find any info relating to this folder and also how to reinstall the hard drive using this folder.
The folder is located at c:/recover/. Can anybody shed any light on this, or is it something that I just need to get rid of.

Thanks for your replies in advance

Do you have the Windows Recovery CD and a "Drivers & Utilities" DVD?

It is new to me that there is a folder "recover" containing an image. It wouldn't make sense, since when it is on C:, how could it recover C: itself?

Yes I have the recovery CD. All instructions point to a reinstall of windows xp and then install from the drivers cd. So I was a little puzzled finding this hidden folder in my C drives root.

Looks like a simple copy of C:, so especially no real image. I'm very sure that it was not created by FSC.
