Hello everybody
I´m new to this forum & joined so that I could fix the following problem
I´m writing from Santiago, Chile. Not too long ago, I purchased a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D1845 from a german gentleman that was visiting
He sold it to me real cheap because the unit had a problem that the battery was not recognized in windows, hence never charges so needs to be permanently plugged into the wall to work
Investigating the issue, I´ve read that this battery issue, along with the heating up problem can be resolved doing the BIOS Flash to the 1.04
In my attempt to do this, I´ve come accross the following problem
When I press F2 to enter the BIOS on startup, it asks me for a password; which obviously I donot have
Looking up the process of the BOIS flash, it requires me to enter the BIOS, change the settings option, remove the password & proceed
Now since I dont have the password & the man that sold me the notebook isnt even here anymore, I have no clue how to "break in" to the BIOS to do this & hopefully fix the notebook
I read somewhere that manufacturers sometimes have a Master password for these situations, I called up the Fujitsu Siemens helpline & after getting the runaround, a gent tells me that there doesnt exist a master password & since the warranty on my notebook is no longer valid, they offered me as LITTLE help as POSSIBLE
Please someone help me overcome this issue; I would be eternally grateful to you
Can I just go & try the flash without ever getting into the BIOS? Is there a chance that the BIOS gets damaged & the computer turning useless?
Does anyone know how to reset the BIOS password with via internal jumpers?
PLEASE HELP!!!!
