Postby FSCer » Fri Feb 02, 2007 1:10 am

Hi,I've used the new Realtek HD audio driver R1.56 ,that i found on that site
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/dow ... Down=false
But,I've encountered a problem. the speaker's colume controller placed on the left side of the laptop doesn't work any more!I don't know if it is a problem of the driver or something else though! Also, the quality of the sound is not so goodThe playback is not smooth,it has some pauses know and then.I don't know what might be the problem, but anyone that could help us out,is welcome.

Vista sound drivers

Postby catr97 » Thu Feb 22, 2007 9:55 am

Hi,
I have the same problem, I used the link to the sound drivers posted here (thansks for that one) and the sound works fine, except the control wheel on the sound. I called up Fujitsu yesterday and some slacky CS person told me: - uhhh, have you looked at our website?
Well of course I have you stupid f**k. Then he said he didnt know.. Nice support there... Anyway, I will call back today and hope I get to someone that has a little more knowledge than him (he didnt realize that the only posted sound drivers were to Win Xp Home and not even XP pro for the M series) Anywas.. keep on going with this forum and I'll update everything I get.

Drivers

Postby macmannen » Thu Feb 22, 2007 1:36 pm

The problems were the same for me.
my soulution:
Sound driver : R1.56 for WinXP makes the volume knob work
Sound stutter still there, but after miles of forum reading I found that the problem is the VIA RAID driver. people was using older driver from FSC for XP.

just download this (it´s the same as on FSC suport side)

http://support.fujitsu-siemens.com/down ... 96BF7DEC74

works great. Now Vista Rocks.

R1.56

Postby catr97 » Sun Feb 25, 2007 4:22 pm

Hi, thanks for the advice, however I was unable to find the R1.56 driver. When looking at the drivers from RealTech I could not find it. I have the R1.60 and the knob doesn´t work on that one.
Any other advice where I may find this R1.56 that makes the knob work or any other suggestions?

Sound drivers vista

Postby catr97 » Sun Feb 25, 2007 6:07 pm

Hey and thanks Aaron, I downloaded and installed this but it didn´t work with the knob anyway... I read macmannens post again and it said the he used R1.56 for XP and not the vista driver...
I will keep searching for this one but if you find anything else (maybe the R1.56 for XP) before me please post it :)

sound on 1437G

Postby JohnDB » Sun Feb 25, 2007 8:27 pm

I'm also having problems with sound having upgraded to Vista. I have realtek 1.6 driver and latest Via sata driver installed but still have no wheel control and poor lagging sound. seems to be confusion with the post from macmannen, states people are using older XP via driver but link appears to be to the same, or is it me. Anyway has anyone managed to fix either or both issues?

links

Postby macmannen » Sun Feb 25, 2007 8:51 pm

I downloaded the sound driver from techspot.com.
Vista_R156.exe (Vista Driver)
But when I tryed the link it seams that they changed it to 1.60. Typical. Hope that you´ll find it.

The Sound stutter problem is caused by the new Raid driver, that´s why you have to use the old one.

Driver - VT6421 SATA - AMILO M1437G
Version: 5.1.2600.440a (WinXP)

think the new one is 5.1.2600.550

Vista complains when installing Via SATA RAID driver. Just let Vista "fix" the install and go on.

Good luck

Wonder if FSC is going to make Vista drivers dedicated for the M1437G

Sound Problem

Postby JohnDB » Sun Feb 25, 2007 9:14 pm

Thanks macmannen,
installed older via driver, vista complained but it worked, sound not 100% but a great deal better than with new driver. Had any luck with the volume control wheel? nothing seems to work.
Used aspettl's link for the 1.56 driver, its still there.

volume knob

Postby macmannen » Mon Feb 26, 2007 8:46 am

My volume knob is working.

Did you just install the driver or the whole .exe pack with sound manager and so on?

I look at the property in my amilo for the sound card and the version is 5.10.0.5345.

check if yours is the same. I now that 6.xxxx do not fix the knob.

Hey Aaron, I didn't try that one actually.. I will when I get time. The girlfriend came in last night and said that if I spent more time with the computer, she would break up with me :P
Anyway, I will try the 1.57 for XP when the time is right. However I finally got my Wii today so I will be gaming a bit on that one :P

I solved my issue with the lagging sound on my laptop by formatting the computer, installing XP with only driver for mousepad and Intel WIFI. Downloaded the latest raid, started the installation of Vista, when it asked or the raid files I pointed it to the desktop where it was saved and then installed vista. Seemed like a conflict with old XP drivers running in the background somehow and new Vista drivers.. However it is working perfectly on mine now.. except the Fu***ng volume knob :P
Will try the R1.57 XP when time is given though

M3438/M4438 has the same mainboard as M1437/M1439, so you could try this sound driver:
http://support.fujitsu-siemens.com/Down ... 28131AA6EB
Maybe it works...
