Amillo 1554 and windows vista 64bit

Postby ste tates » Wed Feb 28, 2007 1:02 pm

Hi I was wondering if anyone else has an Xi 1554 yet and if they have installed Vista 64bit on it...

I have tried but on install where you select the partition to install on, there are no drives shown. the laptop has 2x 120Gb drives on a raid controller. im assuming that Vista 64 doesnt nativly support the raid controller and therefore the drives arent shown. any thoughts / help?

the laptop came with windows vista home premium (32bit) and that installs fine as a fresh install.

Are there 64-Bit RAID drivers? If so, then you should integrate them into your Windows CD.

VIA itself provides 64-bit drivers, but don't use the newest version 5.40, it seems to cause some problems. 5.30c is better:

Ok the via raid driver works a treat. it now shows the 2 drives during x64 setup. Next question.......

Does anyone have a clue if there are 64bit drivers available for the ati mobility x1900??
