Hi
I'm new around, and finally I found a FSC forum where i actually can post (at FSC forum, i can never get my new account approved... )
So, here's the problem.
I have this Amilo Pi1505 with Core2Duo T7200, and i'm pretty sure i'm having overheatting problems.
The fan turns on even if the notebook stays at idle (this happens at 65ºC). Even with the "Silent Mode" on, the fan comes on.
Running Intel TAT with full load at both cores, the processor reaches 85ºC (with room temperature below 20ºC) which, in turn, sometimes make the CPU throttle back the frequency to keep the temperature at safe levels.
I returned the notebook to FSC and they replaced CPU...when I picked it up, it was worse than before: the before mentioned burn test would fire up the temperatures even quicker than before...
I returned it a second time and now they say they have replaced motherboard, cpu, heatsink, memory, etc...everything except the case and LCD...it's better now: i can notice the temperatures will raise slower but, eventually, it reaches the same values (85/86ºC) during the intel TAT burn test...besides, the fan keeps coming on more often than what i think it is supposed to. I'm sure I will have problems during Summer...I don't think this behavior is normal considering the ambient temperatures at this time...
Is there anyone here with a similar setup (pi1505 with core2duo T7200) that could help me with this one? Could anyone try to run Intel TAT, full load both cores and tell me what happens?
Btw, where can I find service manual for this notebook? I was thinking on replace the thermal compound with some artic silver grease, but I don't want to adventure myself in unknown lands...mainly because the notebook is still under warranty.
Thanks in advance for your help
Regards
