Amilo 1538 wlan question

Postby Opeth » Sat Mar 10, 2007 10:03 pm

Hi everyone. I recently bought a FS amilo 1538. Windows vista was the OS that came along and I tried it for a few days but didn't really like it. I installed xp professional and got everything to work exept for the Wlan. I can't use the drivers on the cd since they only work wiht vista. I also tried to download the drivers from Fujitsu-siemens homepage and install them but that didn't work either.

Please help.

FSC provides two different drivers:
http://support.fujitsu-siemens.com/Down ... 176B437989 (WLAN miniCard D2301)
http://support.fujitsu-siemens.com/Down ... 176B437989 (WN6301A miniCard WLAN IEEE802.11 b/g)

Did you try both?

I have a similar problem on amilo la 1703.

After installing from vista to windows xp, wlan doesnt work, as far as windows is concerned it seems there is no wlan card on my machine (although there is).

How to install those drivers mentioned on the links?

Unzip the file, then use "install driver" (or similar) in your hardware device manager.

(My XP is in Spanish, so I say you in this language)

Inicio->Panel de control->Agregar nuevo hardware->Siguiente->Siguiente-Agregar nuevo dispositivo->Instalar desde una lista->Seleccionar todos->Mostrar todos->Utilizar disco

Then, you look for the driver you have downloaded and click "next" for a few times. But... now I have a problem: When I choose the S1S163U, I have to choose "Fujitsu Siemens Computer", "ROPER" or "Silicon Integrated System Corp", and after that, there are some models. ¿What do I have to use?

(I use Amilo Pa1538)

My Pa came with XP home, but since I've reinstalled, the wifi isn't working.
No matter which driver I give it, it'll take it, but it won't work...
Once I've asked the tech support to send me an e-mail, with my notebook's specifications (decided by the serial number), so I'll know the name of my wlan adapter precisely.
But all I've got was this:

WLAN 802.11b/g standard

Is this the exact name of the adapter? Isn't this only it's type, the name of the standard it uses?

I still don't know which driver I should install from that many, that I can find in those *.inf files.
