Amilo Pi 1356 battery and temperature problem

Postby Alatien » Sun Mar 11, 2007 10:50 pm

I have a problem with my battery and temperature.

1. The battery stops charging after reaching 8%. The windows XP sees it as almost empty, but the hardware must see it as full (green diode and no charging).

2. In addition, my fans are operating at full speed. I have checked the temperature (with Speedfan), and it shows that 'Temp1' is 86 C! Now it looks like 'Temp1' is ACPI (Advanced Configuration & Power Interface?).

Does anyone has met with similar problem? Any solutions or suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

It seems that restarting the battery few times helped the chip "learn" is size (fixed problem 1). Flashing the BIOS helped with temperature and fan control (fixed problem 2).

Thanks, good to know :-)
Problem 2: Do you know which BIOS version was installed before updating?

I do not have the exact number of previous BIOS version, but it was the one originaly provided with the instalation CD.

The upgrade was well needed.
