Windows activication with Amilo laptop ?

Postby SteveE17 » Wed Apr 11, 2007 12:01 am

Laptop is requesting that windows xp home to confirm is genuine software. I bought the laptop off ebay therefore no way of checking. I have added the XP home certification key to microsoft site for verification. This was rejected by ms, is there any other way to ensure windows xp supported on my Amilo A1645 laptop? I have another copy of XP pro for workstation not laptop specific.

Do you have a Windows XP recovery CD by FSC?
Is there a product key on the bottom of your laptop?

Did you install Windows using the original FSC-CD?
Your Windows is activated, but the website is telling you it is illegal?

Maybe you'll have to call Microsoft - I know that there are cases of "false positives" regarding OEM licenses.
