Amilo 36676G Hot and Noisy

Postby universecentre1 » Fri Mar 30, 2007 12:26 am

Has anyone got any info on Amilo 3667g? I bought one Aug 06 - within 2 weeks I was on to support as the fan was making a lot of noise and the panel either side of the mouse was too hot to comfortably rest my wrists on when typing. Support advised that this was normal and wouldn't even consider checking it out. I have been back on to them several times but with the same result. Last time they told me that the 3667g is only an 'occassional machine' and not built for continuous work (as I do) but this is not published in any of their advertising or description material. The fan is now noisier - it gears up faster and faster and sounds like a plane getting ready to take off - I have had to buy a seperate key board. Now I am getting programs (windows movie maker for example) freezing up (just when the project is complete) and I have to ctrl/alt/del and lose the lot and start again! I am considering taking legal action with the retailer if he won't replace or refund €1,400. I hate to do this as he is a small shop - thats what I get for supporting local business! Any ideas???

Then demonstrate him your problems, so he can see that they are justified.
The fan isn't very silent afaik, but surely not "like a plane getting ready to take off"... freezes aren't normal, either. It could help if your retailer called FSC instead of you.
