Amilo 1705 Battery

Postby SimonG03 » Sat Apr 14, 2007 3:18 pm

Hi,

I've seen that the battery for an Amilo V2030 looks the same as that which is in the Amilo 1705... except for the 4400 mAh as opposed 2200 mAh.

Does anyone know whether this would work as a replacement battery and extend the short battery life of the 1705.

Any comments welcomed.

The 4400 mAh version of the 1705 battery is called SMP-LMXXSS6, google for it and you should find plenty of sellers

And yes this is the same battery as v2030, v2050 et al

I used a 2030 battery on my amilo for more than a year and my brother has been using it for another year so no problems there. Is it a new one?

It was a SMP-LMXXSS6

Well I gave my 1705 to my brother about a year and a half ago so I cannot be certain of the maker, the battery I used most was a generic clone of the SMP-LMXXSS6 bought off a Hong Kong dealer on ebay but I also had a real fujitsu branded SMP-LMXXSS6 (Made by FIC originally I think, like the computer) and a couple of SMP-LMXXSS3, both the original that came with the LI and a clone off ebay. but although both charged I never used them since I would only get half an hour off them while I got at the least an hour and a half off the bigger batteries and more after I replaced the crap Celeron with a Dual core that had proper power management.

V2020 batteries look similar but are not the same .......

Note, some variants of the v2030 can use a SMP-LMXXPS6, very similar to a SMP-LMXXSS6 BUT not identical mechanically, did you get this battery by mistake? Notice the one letter difference in the model number.

the code on the battery from ebay is cex-lmxxxhba6
this one is not charging or being detected at all

the code on my genuine fujitsu battery is smx-lmxxss3
this one is detected but its the original battery and doesnt last a minute even

is the one from ebay not compatible?

oli which battery did u buy from ebay?
by any chance do u know wat the code of that battery was?

I do not know, it looks similar to the SMP-LMXXSS6 but not 100% identical, is the one you got identical on the outside to the original battery?
As far as connectors go that is?

I got mine from a couple of the chinese sellers on ebay, 32 pounds including postage for the SS6, 24 for the SS3

Could it be that the computer is no longer charging?

where in the world are you ?
Searching on ebay.com for SMP-LMXXSS6 got me:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Fujitsu-DPK-LMXXSS3 ... 547wt_1165
http://cgi.ebay.com/Gen-Battery-Fujitsu ... 2119wt_939
and so on

Ebay UK gave me:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-Fujitsu-DPK-L ... 518ced9699
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4-4A-Genuine-Fuji ... 335ab1d302
and so on

Beware, I also got a few hits for batteries that claimed to be SMP-LMXXSS6 but actually were SMP-LMXXSS3, if they are 2200 they are SS3, the SS6 is 4400mAh, make sure the advert says 4400mAh
