Stolen laptops - Amilo D1845, Lifebook S6120

I'm not expecting any help here, but this forum does get indexed by Google so I thought it would be a good place to get it online.

On Sunday night we had two laptops stolen by thieves who managed to operate the front door through the letterbox. They also took house keys, car keys and a Ford Focus.

The laptops were an Amilo D1845 P4 3.33 GHz 1GB DDR 80GB HDD DVD-RW dual layer, serial number YSNM007084, and a Lifebook S6120 serial number YBFB101346 / R4Y00687.

The Lifebook has a BIOS PIN that will probably result in the thing being locked pretty quickly. The Amilo has no password and, unfortunately, no program that would "phone home" with an IP address. It has a repaired power adapter lead. Unfortunately, I don't have the MAC address for the wireless card of either so I can't go out "wardriving".

My sympathy goes out to you. I wouldn't expect to see them again, but at least the newer machine won't be much use to them. As for the 1845, you're probably best shot of it anyway.

The pain of burning...or, why did I buy a D1845?
