columns of distorted pixels

Postby dzenko » Sat May 05, 2007 11:30 am

hi to everyone on this forum!

i have two sets of problems with graphics/display on my pi1536.
i have xp pro installed and an x1400.
the first is that after some time the laptop is on, i get columns of distorted pixels all over the screen, where a pixel should be blue, it is red for example. the longer the laptop is on, th more obvious it is. in some aplications i have no problems, but on some i do... when i have no drivers for the graphic card, this problem does not appear.
the other thing is, if i dl and install the driver for xp pro from fsc support pages, the screen turns permanently black 4 times out of 5 before even reaching windows...
i just newly installed win xp pro so i don't have all messed up, but i still can't fix this... please help! :? :?

Try the "hardware reset" (see FAQ) and another (maybe older?) driver.
But I fear it's a case for warranty.

Maybe it's coz of way You install new/reinstall old drivers.

First of all you have to remove old one by using
Add/Remove Programs - NVIDIA drivers
