1667g CPU upgrade

Postby voney2001 » Wed May 09, 2007 1:26 pm

Hi
Can anyone tell me what the fastest CPU that I can put into my 1667g
Currently I have a Athlon 64 3700 - 1GB memory
I usually use my laptop with the mians--and use it a lot for games or AutoCad work.
But I have been know to travel with it and use the battery only.
I was also thinking of upgrading my Graphics card mainly becuase of the temperture that is produced
Otherwise I am very happy with it

anyone have any ideas

I wouldn't recommend another cpu - it wouldn't be that much faster (but certainly consume more power).

You do want a graphics card which consumes less power?

Becuase I mainly run it off the mains--the amount of power that it uses doesn't bother me--but saying that I thought turion's would use less power than my althon

I want what ever one wants
the fast CPU and GPU--but for my GPU i want it to be cooler, but faster if possible

A Turion needs (much) less power - but faster than the best Athlon 64?
Athlon 64 3700+ has 2,4 GHz with 1 MB Cache - the fastest Turion ML-44 the same. So I don't think you will feel the difference.
(Afaik a Turion X2 won't work.)

GPU: I can't think of a card that matches your criteria :-(
