Amilo A 1645 RAM upgrade  Topic is solved

Postby jonebarl » Sat May 19, 2007 7:20 pm

I have an Amilo 1645 AMD with 480mB of ram. I would like to upgrade to 1 GB, but there is no reference in the manual on how to do this (I recently upgraded my Dell desktop, easy instructions in the Dell manual).
It doesn't look to me that the keyboard lifts, so I guess acces to the ram is one of the covers under the laptop. Is there any easy guide somewhere I can download ?
Thanks
Barry

With reference to the attached images:

First remove the battery (1) and then remove the backplate (2) by removing the 9 screws (highlighted in orange).

The memory will be visible on the right hand side of the processor (highlighted in red).

Remove the existing memory modules and then replace with the new ones, screw on the backplate and reconnect the battery.

Note, always observe anti-static measures to reduce the risk of damage to components!
