Problems with hard drives, CD/DVD-devices, firmware updates, USB stick, card reader,...

My hard drive on my Amilo L6825 is on its way out and I am planning to get a WD hard drive to replace it. Anyways what I am wondering about is it possible to use Norton Ghost to copy over the entire image of the hard drive including the recovery partition.
I have done similar things with PCs but this would be the first attempt on a laptop.
Any comments!!

It isn't any different to normal computers, your only problem is that you can't connect two drives at once
I don't know if Ghost supports USB drives or DVDs for backup images, but I suppose so.

newer versions of ghost support usb drives, I am not to sure about dvds, but that is in regards to desktops. I guess that laptops are no different.
Was really looking for advise from people who have done such a task before.
