My Amilio M3434G is death !

Postby glisic » Thu Jun 07, 2007 5:25 pm

Dear All,
Sorry for my poor English!
For the first I have experience with this problem: sometimes during the work my screens just switch off.
In that moment I can only to shut down the laptop by pressing the power button.

Now my laptop can’t start up.
When I press the power button the light are on for the 5 second and after that the laptop shut down completely.
Best Regards

Did you try the hardware reset already?
Can you monitor the temperatures?

Oh, it doesn't ever start up... I misunderstood that.

I suppose you don't have warranty anymore?

Dear Aaron
I just check with our authorized service. The laptop is 1,5 year old and the warranty for this model is 1 year.
Bad luck! The authorized service told me that the problem is in motherboard and that I must buy a new one. The cost of a new one is 580 euro!
Is there any chance that the problem is in bios EPROM? Because if it is I have a friend who can reprogram the bios EPROM!
Best regards
Ratko

Yes, probably. There are other components (cpu / graphics), but this behaviour isn't typical for these.

I don't think so.
