Replacing backup battery for v2010

Postby via-strass » Sat Jun 16, 2007 11:55 pm

Hi there. I have an Amilo Pro 2010. The backup battery seems to have failed or be missing. (Following some repairs by a not very professional shop!) I think this because if unplugged from the mains and turned off, the time and date are reset to 01/01/2004, and there is an error message about the BIOS checksum on booting up again.
Does anyone know, where the backup battery is located, what type it is, and how to replace it? I am quite confident with a screwdriver, and not too worried if the computer breaks, so I don't want to pay to have it repaired. But I already opened the case once, without finding where the backup battery is. So if anyone has already replaced it on this or a similar model, or is familiar with the motherboard and how to get to it, that would be great if they could post this info.
Thanks in advance,

The L7300 is constructed in the same way, but I couldn't find any specific information for this either :-(

Did you look for the cmos battery from below and above (below keyboard)?

Yes, but without taking the case apart completely, as I wasn't able to.
