Connecting a widescreen LCD screen to a Amilo Pro V3405  Topic is solved

Postby vrdatas » Fri Jun 22, 2007 8:48 pm

Hi, does the Amilo Pro V3405 support resolutions such as 1440 x 900 and 1680 x 1050 which is widely used among 19" (and up) LCD monitors, or will I have to buy a 4:3 LCD screen? Not using the native resolution of a LCD screen is not an option.

It has an Intel GMA 950 graphics chip, I read that 1680 x 1050 works via DVI, but not with VGA.
But this was just one case.
1.) It could differ with your notebook.
2.) Probably it depends on the external monitor (has to send its correct resolution via VGA to the laptop, not every monitor does that...)
3.) Maybe it's possible to edit inf files or use PowerStrip to add resolutions.

Sorry, I can't give you a straight answer. It would be best if you can try it on-site.

Hi again, I bought a Samsung 205BW which has a native resolution of 1680*1050 and it does indeed work. The resolution was added after the driver was installed and the screen was connected. Thanks for the help.
