InstantOn, Dualboot Linux and Windows

Hi,

I have a m1437g Amilo which is happily running the bundled WinXP and Ubuntu Dapper. I use the Grub bootloader as installed by Ubuntu.
I wonder if it is posssible to use InstantOn with this setup. And in that case, what steps do I need to follow to get it working?

You have to copy C:\Program files\Cyberlink\Powercinema Linux to a Linux partition (e.g. /boot/instanton), then add it to your /boot/grub/menu.lst like this:
Code: Select all
title       Linux-based Media Player
root       (hd0,1)    # your root linux partition
kernel     /boot/instanton/bzImage root=/dev/loop0 rw video=vesabf:ywrap,mtrr vga=788 splash=silent
initrd     /boot/instanton/initrd.gz

Thanks!
That works. But, unfortunately the program freezes after the Fujitsu Siemens logo shows. I haven't installed the PowerCinema 3in1 package from the FSC website as I am afraid it will overwrite the bootloader. Do you think I should do this?

InstantOn Setup will overwrite your bootloader, that's right.
You could try this modded image of InstantOn:

I think it's based on the newest version.

Cool.
That image booted allright, but complains that there is something wrong with my Windows XP installation and shuts down. Do you know why this is happening?
