Problem with bios AMILO 1420

Postby beppe » Mon Jul 02, 2007 10:06 am

Hi to every body.
I'm new to the forum.
Today I've updated the bios on my amilo m1420 with the 1.26 bios version downloaded from the support page of fujitsu.
Now I've a problem. The fan start to run when I start my pc, but it doesn't stop. It continues to run also during the normal use of the PC. With the old bios (1.25) there isn't this problem.
I've update the bios using the tutorial posted: I've burned the iso image and booted the pc from CD/DVD. It works correctly (no problems, no system crash, all fine). I loaded the default settings but nothing changed.
I've a dual boot system: Windows XP home SP2 and Kubuntu 7.04 but it seems that the problem is OS indipendent

Please help me.

Thanks to everybody

Did you also try the hardware reset (FAQ)?
As far as I remember I also used 1.26 on my M1420 - no fan problem there.

I don't know. I've only rebooted the PC when the bios was updated and loaded its default settings (the bios default settings).

How can reset hardware? Where can I find something that explain me how to reset the hardware?

Thanks

I tried to reset the hardware (I removed the battery and the AC, press the power button for about 10 seconds) but nothing happened. When I start the PC (ant it is cold) the fan doesn't work but when its starts to run for the first time, it never stops.

I've also tried to downgrade the bios to the previous version (1.25) downloaded from the fujitsu siemens support web site but nothing happen.

I don't now what can do.

I don't want to send my notebook to the tecnical support of my city. I absolutely need my PC for work and I can't wait for a long time.
