Hi Folks,

My notebook(Amilio L1300) does not boot form the the dvd anymore, is this a known issue? Where can one find spare parts for this machine?

Could one just attach usb cd drive and boot from that one ?

Thanks in advance for any help

same problem also :D .....previously (from the first owner)os installed is xp sp2 vista look but found out with viruses and cannot remove it anymore....so the typical solution for me (second owner) is to have a fresh os by formatting hd and re-installing........unlucky for me coz my amilo wont boot from the cd/dvd rom......i tried external usb cd-rom, but wont boot also.....(although on bios report display, it can see the external usb cd-rom drive).....i did the resetting(removal of battery and pressing the power-on button for 10 sec, but still does not boot on cd-rom)...i tried all the options on bios setting  .....is there any option for us here?...any radical option maybe?.........at windows level, the cd/dvd rom is working....

im thinking of pulling out the sata hd and copying some os on it...maybe win98 initially then upgrading to xp?

any help please....
