Amildo D7820 No Display After Cleaning

Postby Bozzer » Sun Jul 22, 2007 11:07 am

I really hope someone can help me.

I have an Amilo D7820 laptop and a few months ago it started to overheat and switch itself off.

Reading the forums, one sugestion was to clean the dust from around the fan. I did so just using a dry cloth and then put the laptop back together, only to find that I have no display.

When I press the power button the backlight comes on but the computer just hangs. It doesn't access the A:\ drive or make any other noises so I know it isn't loading in the background. Nothing at all is displayed on the screen.

I have rechecked all the connnections, and as far as I can tell they all seem to be fine. Do you think I may have somehow damaged the graphics adapter, or could it be something else?

If so, how easy (and costly!!), will it be to replace?

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
