Screen distorted

Postby amateur » Sun May 14, 2006 10:58 am

I have an Amilo Pro V2010 notebook. The screen has recently become fuzzy & distorted with wavy lines and generally poor visibility.
How do I find out if this is due to a graphics card or if the screen is broken.

Is the screen distored when you power the notebook on? (before Windows is loaded?)
Do you have the possibility of downloading a Linux Live CD?

Thanks,

Yes white wavy lines start as soon as it boots and continue when Win XP loads.
Colours then gradually became fainter and the level of distortion gradually increased until it became practically unusable.

Please try hardware- and BIOS-reset as described in the Hardware FAQ:
topic,11,-Hardware-F-A-Q.html

If that does not work, you would probably not have a chance to fix it on your own. You may contact FSC Support.
