It is a driver instalation software that decide if your system is copatible with Catalyst Mobility. In my case, it decided that my system is incompatible (Xi 1546, X1800). But it works fine also with direct downloaded driver ...

... link mentioned above, is a direct donload link to lastest Mobile Catalist for Windows XP. You can't find this link at ATI page, because officialy, you have to use "Installation Verification Software" ...
