Which SATA driver?

Postby erajr » Sat Aug 18, 2007 8:38 am

Hello,

This is my first message in this forum after buying a pi1536.

I have followed all the instructions in the forum about downgrading from Vista to Xp2. I have got the sata drivers from Intel but when opening the txtsetup.oem file in step 6 of Winfuture Xp-Iso-Builder, I see all this drivers:

- Intel(R) 82801IR/IO I/O Controller Hub (ICH9R)
- Intel(R) 82801HEM I/O Controller Hub (ICH8ME)
- Intel(R) 82801HBM I/O Controller Hub (ICH8M)
- Intel(R) 82801HR/HH/HO I/O Controller Hub (ICH8R)
- Intel(R) 631xESB/632xESB I/O Controller Hub (631xESB/632xESB)
- Intel(R) 82801GHM I/O Controller Hub (ICH7MR)
- Intel(R) 82801GBM I/O Controller Hub (ICH7M)
- Intel(R) 82801GR I/O Controller Hub (ICH7R)
- Intel(R) 82801GH I/O Controller Hub (ICH7DH)

Which one should I use to create the CD with Xp2+SATA drivers image?

In step 7 of Winfuture Xp-Iso-Builder I see also two files:

iaahci.inf
iastor.inf

The question is the same. Which one to use?

The 1536 is a Core 2 Duo t7200, 1GB RAM with Intel mobile 945PM Express chipset.

Thank you very much

first, for the txtsetup.oem, just include all drivers. I also have a Pi 1536, and I've done the same thing.

for the second one I'm not so sure, I thought it gave an error with one of them, so it's the one where it doesn't give an error.
CUT IT OUT YOU PALOOKA!!! :D

right, if you are not sure, include all drivers. Windows is picking the right one during installation on its own.

Step 7 is optional. Since you must also install chipset drivers in windows after installation, you can skip this step. After you have installed windows, install chipset drivers first. Then everything else.

If you need HD audio support by KB888111 (dont know right now with this model, but I think you do!), have a look at this

you need a real windows cd. Integrate the drivers to the windows setup cd and burn the result on another CD. Use this CD to install.

i did it, and it recognizes the drivers but then i get that error..

could it be that it thinks its an illegal windows because of the integrated updates of july and the added SP2 ?

hm... sounds weird. Try to borrow a "real" windows setup cd of a friend to use it with xp-iso-builder. But then you must use, of course, your own serial key that you own.
